Horseshoe Taps–Guess Which Ones are Mine?
I’m going nuts with posting today. Check out the next three posts; they’re also new ones from today. This one is the last of three galleries of horseshoe-tapped shoes. (Might be a duplicate or two from prior posts.) There’s a pic of one of mine in here too. See if you can figure out which one.

Compared to you I no longer consider myself addicted to shoes with taps….not in the slightest!
You have all these pix….
You research books for a few words about shoes with taps…
You’ve collected what everyone has ever said about taps…and you solicit more.
And if that isn’t enough, you write fiction to fill in all the blanks.
Addicted may not be a strong enough term….perhaps obsessed is better.
I mean, wear them….
Make lots of noise when you can…
Drive the guys crazy…
Oherwise, spend more time with your hubby and kids.

What should I do with Tapnut2’s postings? He’d been pretty friendly to me at first. But then, a few weeks ago, he complained I didn’t become a surfer. Now he’s again telling me how I should run my life. Geeessh.

I was so obsessed with pretty Tapgirls that I did what very few straight Texas boys would ever do. I joined a tap dancing class in my mid-30’s, looking for Miss Perfect. Unfortunately they were all Mrs. Perfects; and I was the only guy in the class for several years. Any obsessive/compulsive hobby; activity, or lifestyle that does not hurt dogs or children, and is not illegal, is OK in my opinion. I used to have “radar ears” as finely tuned to the clicky echoes of a young woman’s heels as the targeting radar of a jet fighter. “CP”, for “confirmed positive” was my mental note if the clicking was accompanied by bright, metallic heel flashes. “Lock me up, guys…I’m CRAZY!” My obsession lasted from puberty until heart failure and diabetes spoiled my fun by my mid-50’s. But I’ll never stop looking and listening!

I just curious….if tapgrrl’s interest (hobby, obsession, whatever) seems to bother you to the point that you feel you must comment with advice that she change her ways, why continue to follow her blogs….why continue reading what she writes?

I now know that Tapnut2 wasn’t being nasty with his comment above. He was just trying to help me avoid messing up my life by paying too much attention to taps. I guess that does happen to some people, as I have learned through private emails, but I want to assure him and the rest of you that my family life is ok. My hubby and I did split once, but it didn’t have anything to do with taps. And even though it might seem like I’m spending a lot of time at this, I’m not really. For the most part I’m just gathering together pictures and quotes that I saved over the past 10 years (that’s 3,650 days, so maybe one or two photos and quotes per day!). Anyway, my hubby spends a lot of time on the computer at home for his work (he teaches history and writes academic papers), so while he’s doing that during the evening or while the girls are at school, I’m doing this. Not a big deal. OK?
Oh, and in case you couldn’t guess, the photo of my shoes with horseshoe taps is the one in the fourth row on the right. Hubby photoed me once in an airport lounge and he got one of my taps on the picture. Cropped for this gallery.
